So after we had a little power outage on Sunday, my DSL modem decides to die. So i fork out $29.95 to Verizon for a new modem.
It arrives today and i plug it in, hoping everything to be hunky-dory.
Yah, right.
So after an hour and a half of speaking with a half-witted call-center tech named "Mary" (who i think sounded filipina) proceeds to tell me that since the Internet is now connecting (after an hour of configuring/troubleshooting), i need to call Linksys Tech Support.
I decide that talking to India is going to be pointless. So after dicking with the settings on the modem and the router for 30 minutes, i get it to work.
So here's a "Fvck you", Verizon. Time to update your call-center scripts, cuz it's WRONG. I did exactly the opposite of what they recommended and i am now posting this entry putting you (Verizon) on blast.
Now bring FIOS here, biznatches.

Friday - So to close the 2nd week at my new job... the fire system in the server room decides to dump $5,000.00 worth of Halon at 3:30pm in the afternoon. Anyway... long story short, big clunky AC unit blows a bearing and caused enough friction to make smoke, triggering the system. Fire department comes on scene and slaps the company with fines up the wahzoo. Nice 2 hours worth of OT. I make it out to pick up Sar to have dinner at Olive Garden.
Saturday - Woke up early to get my rear tires on the G replaced. Front ones are still out of stock. Make a stop in Monrovia to buy a K&N air filter for the G. Then took the Prelude to get the still leaky transmission fixed. Met up with Sar, Kel, and Apes to attend our old HS Band director's last concert and retirement from teaching to go into Administration. It was sad to see him end that chapter in his life, but it's a good move for him. Concert didn't end until late and we didn't make it to Tofu House for Korean BBQ, so we ended up at Marie Calendar's.
Sunday - Headed over to Sar's house to get some Mario Party 8 in before meeting up with HoHo to have lunch at Hooter's in Old Town Pasadena. The girls had never been... that's why we went. Enjoyed the wings... Hooters... not so much. =P Walked around and then headed to watch Shrek the Third. Movie was ok. Probably didn't enjoy it as much due to a rowdy bunch of brat-ass kids sitting behind us with an indifferent mother. One kid had rollerskates on and kept running them up and down the back of HoHo's seat and across the floor. The other's kept talking and kicking the backs of our seats too. HoHo actually turned around twice to get them to stop, but they didn't. I wanted to bitchslap all of them... but my "better half" advised that i not do anything. Ended up back at Sar's house where the three of us made yummy stuffed burgers and Chinese(Damon)Style broccoli for dinner.
And another work week continues.
