Another 7 Day hiatus

Blogging seems so... mundane. I dunno. Actually, now that i think about it, it's my life that's mundane. I rarely have anything interesting to post about, yet i continue to ramble on like a teenaged girl who just got her own phone.

Every week it's the same old boring crap about my weekend. I'm sure you could care less what happened, especially considering most of you know EXACTLY what happened since you were THERE =P Retarded, no?

In anycase, my sister's b-day was on Sunday so a Happy 20th to you!

Oh, maybe this is a bit of interesting news... Sarah the receptionist that works here has this thing about the Earth being invaded by aliens. While i also believe that we're not alone in this vast galaxy... i don't believe all the hype that comes with the territory. I walked in yesterday and she was already freakin' out because there was this news article on Yahoo about some Canadian scholar who is calling out the US government to stop producing weapons to "Defend the Earth". She also showed me this website about how the moon is actually a space station as the first point of denfese for the Earth and how it has a striking similarities to the "Death Star" in Star Wars. Gimmie a break... how about the Death Star looking like the moon... ya looney.

Ok... it's about 7am and i've been here since 5am.

Fking sucks.

What Google thinks i need...

Taken from Sar

Damon needs...
1. a haircut
2. to viagra-rize his profile...
3. is a little bit of luck, that's all.
4. to get a life
5. new car
6. to quit being such a wuss
7. a shave
8. to learn how to cook immediately and moments later loses his eyebrows when his gas oven explodes.

Those were some of the funny/true ones i found.

Spending beautiful days... inside

Friday: Dinner at The Boat in Hacienda Heights and watched Legend of Zorro. Good movie: exciting, good action, but dumb (jokes) at times. Got home at 1am.

Saturday: Work at 8am. Our company was doing Disaster Recovery testing and i had to be a part of it. Didn't leave until about 4:30pm. The weather was beautiful and i was stuck inside. Sucks for me. At least i got two free movie tickets and a first aid kit as "gifts" for attending. Drove back for dinner with Sar's family and Ho at Sar's house. She made stuffed pasta shells with "from-scratch" pasta sauce. OMG best pasta sauce i've had to date! Also had "store-made" garlic bread and ceasar salad. Ho brought dessert cakes from Kelly's bakery. YUM!

Sunday: Chinatown shopping with Sar and Ho. Picked up two DVD's: The Seven Swords and Inital D Movie.

The Seven Swords looks like a new martial arts movie. I haven't heard anything about it, but it seems it's supposed to be the hottest new chinese movie on the block. The Initial D movie is the live-action movie one. I already saw some of it and it's pretty friggin' cheesy. It doesn't follow the cartoon too closely, but the drifting is pretty cool.

Dropped Ho off and went to Santa Anita mall to pick up Sar's suit and did a lil bit of shopping. Dropped me off at home so i could go with my mom to fix my cousin's PC. Came back and had dinner with Sar and Ho at Cocary and Taiwanese Slush at Shau May.

Now it's back to the weekly grind.

G35 Coupe vs. G35 Sedan

I took the coupe in for a few problems yesterday: Rattles and shifter issues. They gave me an 05 Sedan fully loaded w/o navi. I gotta say, the sedan is a VERY nice ride. VERY comfortable and VERY fun to drive (automatic). I got the car to whip out it's tail a few times. Handles great too. Now i kinda have an idea how well my coupe will perform. Ofcourse i may never really know since i baby it like it was my first born =P

I still have it today, but i think i'll be getting my own car back today. Driving the sedan around kinda made me question buying a coupe. But in the end, i LOVE the way the coupe looks. Sedan is lacking in the eye-candy department.

However, i was able to take a look at a brand new Lexus IS250 today. It was parked outside at one of our buildings. Gotta say, it's a BEAUTIFUL car. Sometimes i wish i had waited for the IS. It's a sleek car. But for $50k? Hmm... maybe not.

That could be my next car though. I'm not sure how much longer the prelude is gonna last. The automatic tranny's in the prelude haven't been exactly... reliable after 100k. I'm at 110k right now. If Lexus comes out with an IS hybrid, i'll be all over that like flies on sh1t.

Hybrid cars have caught my attention lately. Not really because of the fuel efficiency, but more for the use of the carpool lane without exactly car-pooling. That's a MAJOR bonus considering my commute.

Back to the 9-6pm shift & Weekend update

Friday - Took the day off because i was *cough*, *cough*, *a-choo*, *a-choo* sick. Worked on the car all day and met up with Sar and Ho for dinner at Los Gueros in Monrovia and then watched Jarhead while over there. Movie was pretty good except for how it ended. The story anti-climatic, but i think that was the point.

Saturday - Errands and shopping for Sandy's "surprise" birthday party later that night. The party was at El Floridita, a cuban restaurant with live salsa music/dancing. Food was good, but a lil expensive at $27.50 a plate for Paella Valenciana and $23 for Masitas de Puerco. Kinda funny because i like the Masitas de Puerco that Sar got rather than my Paella, and she liked my paella better. =P Go figure. I'm inclined to go back on nights without live entertainment as the prices are significantly cheaper.

Sunday - Took Charlie for a LONG walk around Legg Lake and then a trip to Petco. Figured the dog would be tired after all that... yah right. The mutt LOVES car rides. Sar and i met up with Ho and my sis and started wrapping shoeboxes for the toys we're putting in them for donations for Christmas. Ho left for dinner with the family so i went with Sar for some Red Brick pizza. I think i like this place better for a quick pizza rather than going to CPK. It's cheaper and they have about the same kinds of pizza. Ho came back afterwards to finish up.

Back to the normal 7-4pm and 9-6pm when the other guys want the early shift.

IRV: I gave in and ordered the overlays from blue_batmobile. They should be coming in soon, so if you wanna meet up to help me out putting them on the G, let me know! I got the GTR tails, rear valence, 3rd brake, and front sidemarker overlays.

Damages

Pics of said dog ownage:

Basically the dog ripped off the hanger and in the process shattered everything around the mount point

Cracked about 1/3 of the way to the front

Where the hanger used to be

What a little magic with duct tape and foil tape can do

A shot from the side after a strip of clear packaging tape was applied to seal it from water

And the close up of how it's going to look for the rest of the car's life

Ok... WHAT THE FUCK?!?!?!

If it's not traffic that keeps me from getting to work on time, it's mother-fucking road-kill.

I was going at about 30-40 on Rosemead and there's this one spot where a cop will hide. The speed limit is 45 and since it's right after the long stretch on Rosemead, cars are always tagged for speeding.

Anyways, i always look for the cops and just as i did that, my eyes caught a pretty big object on the road. I went right through it. My car practically flew in the air cuz it was so big. I pull over and see that it's a dog. It was dead before i hit it, because i remember it didn't look like a dog. I look at my car, and my driver's side skirt is cracked in half near the rear. Surprisingly the front had NO damnage and there wasn't any blood... well, at least on on the body of the car.

Drove home and took the G instead.

Damn hell.

I'm so fuckin' pissed.
