I got a call last nite from my IT recruiter about the same position i interviewed for about 3 months ago. I didn't get the job the first time, but it turns out the guy they hired instead of me, isn't doing too well. So they want to know if they can bring me on.
All i have to do is negotiate salary and it should be a done deal.
Nothing solid yet, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's definately good news as IBM isn't giving me sh*t. Hopefully i'm moving on to bigger and better "cheese".
Back to business as usual: Sar is back in school and i'm still doing the same 10-7pm M-F thing.
Sar also got me USC football tickets for all the home games this season =) Now all i need is a SC baseball cap. (Black-fitted please: 7-1/2" i think...)
I was finally able to get a new Bridgestone tire and get rid of the ghetto "Mastercraft" tire. The treads are still different since they discontinued the RE730, but at least it grips and i'm not slipping all over the place... on DRY pavement =P. I have the RE950.
Karhoochie was able to pick up my Honda OEM kit for me from a fellow PO.com buddy of mine up in Norcal. THANK GOD i don't have to drive up there to pick it up. (5.5 hour drive - *shivers*)
I also picked up a VIS Mugen Spoiler from another fellow PO.com buddy who's local. That needs to be painted along with everything else before it gets put on.
Tein SS, ST swaybars, and rims are still in the works. I don't want to spend too much money on rims, but omg these are SOOOOO NICE! *drool*

Picked up a VIS Mugen Spoiler over the weekend. It's just sitting in the corner of my room until the rest of my kit gets to me. Derek is helping me with the rest =)
Friday night me, Sar, HoHo, and Jason went to Curry House in Industry to eat and then to watch "Princess Diaries 2" but the 10:30 showing was cancelled. We ended up watching "Harold and Kumar" which was HILARIOUS, although Sar didn't think so =P
Saturday was also spent with the same 3 and we ate at Applebees and watched "Princess Diaries 2". Sar and HoHo loved it... but i thought it was kinda cheesy. It wasn't a bad movie... but i think it could've been better, cuz i thought the first one was pretty good.
Today (Sunday) was spent with Sar and Jason at J-town for some grocery shopping and then to Old Towne Pasadena to check out Rusnak Mercedes. The dealership was closed when we got there, so we just ended up eating at Cheesecake Factory.
Nothing TOO exciting, but still a very fun weekend. =)

So Sar finally came back and she got me toys! =) And she got herself a CRAPLOAD of Hello Kitty stuff that you can only get in Japan.
I'm glad she's back, but i still miss her cuz i'm at work all day and we can't do much. But it's nice to have someone to talk to at night right before i go to bed =)

Went to shoot pool at Cue Ball in Alhambra last nite with Irv, Darren, Amie, Joann, Tommy, Warren, and two other guys i didn't know. I think i did pretty good. Most of the time i suck. =P
Got my headlights done today by Irv. Instead of the housing being chrome, it's now "JDM Black" baby =) Thanks Irv!
I'll get pics up when i decide to wash my car... whenever that will be.

I called Gary at Discount Tires (in Montebello) this morning at 9am and confirmed that he ordered my (apparently rare) RE730 tires. 30 minutes later, he calls me.
Gary: Hello, Bamon? (He called me Bamon... wtf?)
Me: Yes.
Gary: Hi, we have a problem.
Me: Yes.
Gary: I just called the warehouse and they said they are out of those tires. The computer says two, but the warehouse says they're gone.
Me: Ok.
Gary: I have another tire, Dunlops, in the same size. I'll give it to you for $95 out the door.
Me: Ok.
Gary: I just wanted to check what kinda car you have.
Me: 2000 Honda Prelude
Gary: Ok. 205/50/15
Me: No, no... 205/50/16
Gary: Oh ok.
I get to work and Gary calls me again:
Gary: Hello, Bamon? (He called me Bamon again... WTF?!)
Me: Yes.
Gary: Hi, we have another problem.
Me: Yes.
Gary: I didn't realize your car is 16 inch rims. My mistake
Me: (Thinking in my head: YOU DUMB MOTHERF*CKER!! I ONLY TOLD YOU THAT A MILLION TIMES SINCE YESTERDAY WHEN I FIRST ASKED YOUR A$$ IF YOU HAD 205/50/16 IN STOCK!!!!) Yes, they're 16 inch.
Gary: I do not have any tires that are that size. I do have a 215/50/16 (Which is wider). I give to you for $125.
Me: Let me speak to my father.
Dad: Hello?
Me: This guy is a dumbf*ck. Walk away.
Dad: Yah... he's kinda retarded.
So i'm assed out a tire. Again. Later on today I get a call from my best friend.
Gary: Hello, Bamon? (Seriously... WTF?!?!?!)
Me: Yes.
Gary: I called around and found a tire for you. It's 205/50/16 (Finally you dumbsh*t). I already called your Dad and he agrees to put it on.
Me: Ok, that's fine.
So i got some crappy, unknown brand tires called "Mastercraft". These are some ugly ass tires, but whatever. It works for now and i need my car for work tomorrow. On a brighter (sorta) note, Jose from Costco calls and tells me the tire i want is discontinued, but has been replaced by a "better" RE950. At least i'll get a better tire later on. And when HoHo's cousin pulls through, i'll worry about new rims and tires then (something i'm acutally looking forward to. Yes... even after yesterday and today)
But what a shitty day. At least in terms of car problems. I wake up this morning to meet Irv to go to a Lexus meet at Super Autobacs. I pull out of my garage and i hear this rubber squealing sound. First thing that comes to my head, "I hope my tire isn't flat." (Which by then i already know it is). So i get out of the car to look and guess what?! Yah.
I still went to the meet since i got the tires at Costco with Jason, so i needed his Costco card... but it was early and i didn't want to bother him just yet. Plus the fact the rest of my family went out to eat dim sum with my aunt, uncle, and cousin.
Came back around 1:30pm and headed over to Costco with Jason, where they basically told me to bend over and take it. There was a nail stuck very close to the sidewall, which can't be fixed, which meant i needed a new tire. Do they carry the tire? No. Here's how the conversation went:
Me: Can this be fixed?
Clerk: No, it's too close to the sidewall. You'll need a new tire.
Me: Ok do you have one in stock?
Clerk: No, we don't have any tires in your wheel size. We can try ordering it.
Me: How long before you get one?
Clerk: About a week.
Me: *Turns around and bends over to take it like a...* (you get the point).
I tried calling a few tire shops around, but they don't carry it either. Everyone needs to special order it. Ofcourse they carry other brands, but i have 3 perfectly good tires that seems to be discontinued. Ok people... help me out: Bridgestone Potenza RE730 - 205/50/16.
Come back home with no luck, and what happens? Now my SISTERS FAWKING CAR WON'T START!!! Seriously. WTF?! Turns out her battery is dead and we make it to Kragen Auto parts one minute before they close to drop off the dead battery to test it in the morning.
You know... i remember something like this happening a lil over a year ago. I need to search the arcives for that post.
It's days like this i wish she was here so i could vent and then get a big hug =/
I had this weird dream last night where Sar is chasing me all around a supermarket because i was playing keep away with two bottles of juice. I dunno where the heck that came from... =P I think i need to go to sleep earlier.
I have no idea why Kel was looking through our (Mine and Sar's) archives... (But i have a feeling she's becoming an internet stalker...) but she made it a point to post about it here.
In anycase... in reference to the post, it's funny how i still feel that way about Valentines Day. It's overly commercialized and is still a ploy by Hallmark and the like to continually siphon the last penny out of our pockets for a simple piece of cardboard that says, "I Love You"... which by the way, can be done for a fraction of the cost with a sheet of paper and a red pen you can get at home.
However... i have a gf now. Valentines Day is now cool =)
Took Sara's Dad, Hollie, Jason, and my sis out to Los Gueros Grill after watching Spiderman 2 =) We had a good time. Lots of laughs from me scaring Hollie, making her think she set off an alarm when she opened a door, and from Jason telling us his stories from Vegas. Good times =)
