I'm at the gf's apartment and she's been out cold for about 2 hours now. I guess my cooking really isn't all that bad if you can eat so much and fall asleep for so long. =P
I'm actually quite proud of myself. Seriously, this is the first *real* dinner i ever cooked for anyone. I've made breakfast for mom and dad before for both Mother's and Father's day respectively. But this is the first time i actually went to the market, bought stuff, and cooked it. Although it's a little generic and copied from the back of the cream of mushroom soup can, it came out ok (i think) and it was fun. Chicken in cream of mushroom sauce. Not bad. Also had Wild rice with it, but Sar made that. Also "made" a salad and "made" a Sara Lee New York Style cheesecake =)
The whole purpose for me cooking dinner was so Sar would be able to read and study while i made dinner, but she was there helping me the whole time. Guess it's kinda hard when you don't kno your way around someone else's kitchen. Oh well.
Sar is still down for the count. It's been about 2.5 hours now. I'll wake her in a bit. She deserves the rest. She works so hard and puts herself through so much. I feel bad for waking her at all.
I wish there were more hours in a day too.... for her.

Ok... random thought: Why is two slices of bread, cheese, and meat called a "SANDwich"?????

So because my gf is super smart and good at finding info ( or she just likes making me look stupid ;) ), she answered my question.
It is said that the cooks at London’s Beef Steak Club, a restaurant, invented the first sandwich. John Montague (1718-1792), the Fourth Earl of Sandwich, usually gambled for hours at a time at this restaurant, sometimes refusing to get up even for meals. It is said that ordered his valet to bring him meat tucked between two pieces of bread. Because Montague also happened to be the Fourth Earl of Sandwich, others began to order "the same as Sandwich!" Today, billions of sandwiches of unbelievable variety are his legacy.
Now that i kno this... i kinda remember i heard a story like this before on Reading Rainbow or something like that =P. Oh how forgetful the mind is after college =)

I had posted about my weekend earlier, but Blogger was being stupid. I did save what i wrote, but it seems Sar covered it better than i did. Go read it if you care =P
Anywhoo, i guess i'll explain why i'm back early before the 30-day bet which was supposed to end April 31st. Pooks had a career fair to go to on the 17th so we were questioning whether we wanted to keep going with the bet or just end it right then and there. Pook was gonna shave it regardless and I figured since the bet was originally about wanting to see him with a full-grown beard, it wouldn't make any sense for the rest of us to keep going. Plus it sucks for Pooks to have to suffer just cuz he wants to find a job. So after a little "miscommunication" between some of us... we ended it on the 17th.
Not really note-worthy went on during the two weeks i was MIA, except for spending A LOT of quality time with the "SO" (Significant Other) =)
Oh wait... there are a few other things that are worth mentioning. I went to an interview with IBM a couple weeks back. It went very well. The interviewer liked me and gave me a good recommendation. The only thing that's left is Human Resources. He told me i should kno within the coming weeks. =) Good day gone bad tho, cuz right after i got out, i was feeling really good so i decided to head on over to South Coast Plaza (IBM was in Costa Mesa) and see if i could pick up anything... i.e. shopping =P. Just as i was about to pull into the parking lot, a motorcycle cop pulls up right behind me. I'm like shiz...better turn down the music. So the green arrow turns and i go. Then he turns on his lights. F*ck. Turns out i was doing 60 in a 40 zone. Now i have a $150 some odd dollar ticket on my hand. I'M POOR ENOUGH ALREADY!!!!! =*(
Oh yah... i got a $27 parking ticket from UCI too. Bastards.
What else... oh. It's official... Rayguns (my basketball team) is the worst team in the league. We lost every single game. It's not fun anymore. There's too many players on the team who really don't care and don't play well with US.. meaning me, John, Sunny, and Pooks. This doesn't mean everyone else on the team... but most cuz us 4 are really the only ones that play ball with each other all the time.
I guess that's all for now. Hmm.... HEY GUYS! Dave and Busters is having happy hour again SUN-THUR 10pm till close again. Shall we go?
