Well... here i am again in CS lab. I think i'm on track with programming, at least i hope. This project i'm doing requires us to code up a program that sorts lists of numbers ranging from 0 - 100,000. So far my program sorts the lists correctly, so that's one part down. I still have to work on one last sorting algorithm and i should be done with that. Then i have to add a few more functions to tell me how long each sort takes in milliseconds. That part is easy enough. I just gotta do it. The hardest part about this lab is doing the required tests and then writing up the report for it. The professor is trying to imitate the "real-world". Here's the scenario:
I work for this company that is developing some kind of program. A large part of this program is dependent upon sorting information in numerical order. That's my job. I have to write up severl kinds of sorting algorithms and test them to see which one is the fastest and then write up a report complete with charts and graphs to support my findings and my recommendation on which algorithm to use.
Sounds pretty fun eh? HA. The report is gonna kill me. That's the main part of this lab. The entire thing is out of 4 points. I only get 1 point for the code... and the rest is weighted on the write-up. I'm gonna die. It's due wednesday and i start summer school next week at OCC (Orange Coast College), it's the week before finals week, i'm gonna have review sessions up the butt, and i have a freakin' lesson plan due wednesday morning too. Yes... i'm going to die.
And on top of that i'm bored right now. Pity me...
Just a quick blog before i go shower and head off to bed....
Today was the first time since last quarter (winter '02) that i stayed in CS lab till 12am. I didn't have a program due, i just went there to try to work on my program since stupid windows 98 on my computer doesn't let me see all the output i print out to the command prompt =P. It's cool though since Kels was there to keep me company. I think we did more talking to each other and chatting online than we did doing our programs =P Ah well. We still got stuff done. That's pretty much all i have to say for now... oh yah.. so far.. it's been a pretty good week. Still stressed... but still a good week =)
Another whatever's weekend... let's run through it shall we?
Friday was kinda productive, in the sense that i got to work out. I called up John right when i got home and we went to play 3 hours worth of basketball at Macy Jr. HS bball courts. Good workout. By the time we were done, i could barely walk cuz my legs were so tired. No one else called us up so it was just me and john. We ended up going to eat at Sam Woo for dinner and ended it at Icon playing CS till 2am =P
Saturday was spent watching my sister get ready for her Prom. I actually woke up kinda late. She went out to get her hair done by one of her friends and when she came home... i barely recognized my own sister. She NEVER looks like that. After she put on make up, she looked totally different. I'm not saying she looked horrible... she actually looked good... for once... =P No really. My mom was going nuts with the camera while saying, "Oh my GOD my daughter is BEAUTIFUL!" Hahhaha... craziness. When her date, Greg came to pick her up.. he showed up with a half dozen white longstem roses. Dude got mad game. I gotta learn from him. He came in.. and more pictures were taken. But when it was time to walk to the car... the guy lost some brownie points. He almost forgot to open the car door for his date... and when he did.. he just opened it.. walked away.. and let my sister close the door herself. Ok.. so maybe i shouldn't learn from him =P Hahhaha... jk Greg.. if you're reading this.. you're still cool.. madd props with the roses =). After all that madness i went out with John and his friend (coincidentally named)Greg. We saw Spiderman on the Giant Screen at Edwards Theaters at the Irvine Spectrum. That was tight. After that we headed to Greg's house to chill for awhile where he showed me how to play the guitar for a little bit. Now i wanna jump on the bandwagon and learn how to play guitar. =)
Sunday was spent doing nothing.
Monday was spent doing HW. I actually got a lot done today. I'm happy about that. So there's my weekend. And tomorrow i start classes at 2pm. Cools.
Oh yah.. congrats to Kel on getting her brand new Civic. Time to rice it out! LOL! Woohoo... stickers.. here i come! Bwahahhahahhahah! >=)
While eating out today with my family, Dad mentioned something that he had heard on the news about some weirdness related to 911. If you take the new $20 bill and fold it a certain way, you can see images of the Twin Towers of New York burning and on the other side you can see the Pentagon burning. It's FRIGGIN' CRAZY!!! When my dad told me i just said... yea...right. But when i pulled out the $20 to have him show me, it totally tripped me up. It's kinda hard to explain how it's done, but it's really simple to fold. Just ask me and i'll show you or tell you... which ever is easier =P
congratulations. the rabbit's alive and you are a midori sour. which means that you are not for everyone, but you are deeply beloved by those who embrace your quirky individuality. consider stand-up comedy, orthodontia, or extreme sports as a potential vocation. and clean your room once in a while, huh?
I didn't find out until this morning, but it's my parents wedding anniversary today. So Happy Anniversary to them. I never know these things because they never talk about it. My family is pretty dysfunctional =P
Anyways, I turned in my third lab assignment yesterday for ICS 23. It was due at 8pm finished or not. Well... guess what? I turned it in incomplete. Big whoop. It was the same for my last project, which was the Othello one. Actually, that one was half done. I just didn't get the computer AI to work. Ah well. This one i just couldn't get to work. Time to move on to the next lab. Probably won't start until the end of this week.
I have a lot of work to do. I have a lesson plan assignment that's due tomorrow, reading for the same class, and today was my registration date for Fall quarter 2002. I didn't get ANY of the classes i wanted. I ended up adding classes i never intended to take so i'd have at least something on my schedule. Yay, i get to take Economics again. *twirls finger*
My program sucks @$$! I can't figure this crap out. And on top of that... i'm friggin sore from playing bball all weekend and not even touching my program. That's what i get. Oh well... at least it's a good sore. I need a massage tho. It's times like these i wish i was able to give myself massages. Why? Cuz i'm THAT good. Holla! Anyways... back to work

I'm am blogging from school once again. I come to the smelly computer lab to try and work on my ICS labs/projects/assignments/torture-devices..... whatever you wanna call them, but i end up signing on AIM and then do other random stuff. It's not a very constructive habit =P
Anyways, i found out this morning that my sister is, for sure, going to the Schurr High junior/senior prom this year. Keep in mind she's only a JUNIOR. One of her Senior friends asked her to be his date. Hmm.... i wonder about this guy. I forget the name at this moment but i know she talks to him a lot. I kno he's Japanese. Heh... funny. I keep saying this guy likes my sister. She denies everything and my parents are pretty nonchalant about it, which is kinda odd since they've been against boyfriends from day one. Acutally... they weren't too happy when i started dating back in HS. =P Actually my dad is whatevers... just so long as i don't date..... a certain nationality. =X He went as far as to say he won't attend my wedding if i end up marrying that one. Yikes.... but that's his view. I just tell myself if i love her... whatever nationality she is... nothing else matters. Besides.. my mom has my back =) Anyways.... tangent... back to the sis... yah... already got the dress... he already bought the tickets, rented the tux, got the corsage and boutonniere, and has a mode of transportation. AND he's supposedly paying for all of it. Ok... tell me this guy doesn't like my sister... go ahead... i DARE you. If not for sure, at least he's thinking about it. What guy goes out of his way to pay for EVERYTHING to take this one girl when there are plenty of girls willing to go dutch? Wow.... Methinks it's time to buy a shotgun =) My CO2 powered bb gun isn't gonna cut it. Oh yah... prom is a week from this saturday.
Also... Monterey Park Play Days Parade is this saturday. The parade runs down Garvey Blvd. Go out and support Schurr! Hope to see you there!
I'm still bored.. so Take my OTHER Quiz on FriendTest.com. Similar questions... different scoring system, more than one answer... best answer gets you full credit =)

May 10, 2002. University of Southern California, class of 2002. Congratulations to Johnny for 4 years of hard work! He's the first of all of us to graduate and hopefully... not the last =P. Also a huge thanks to john's parents, Mr. and Mrs. E for the huge dinner at Gordon Biersch! I probably gained back all the weight i've been trying so hard to lose =P. Anyways... again, congrats to you, John, and good luck on the job hunt!

I almost forgot to mention today (Monday) that my Math 6B - Boolean Algebra professor is the best math professor in the world. Not only did he almost have a full-blown argument with one of the students during lecture because he made a mistake in his lecture notes, but he demonstrated his competency in math. He wrote 14 + 27 = 51... remember that. It's got to be true since it is simple arithmetic and he is a University professor so he's got to be correct..... *rolls eyes*

Damn... ICS23 sucks fat nuts. Didn't finish my lab (Cyberthello) but i guess it's ok cuz i think a lot of people are on the same boat. I looked at last quarters scores and the average for this lab was a 2 out of 4. So i'm hoping for a 2. =\ Such low standards... =(
Anywhoo... i'm out of the slump for now. No projects due for a while. Time to help Kels with Junit... wooha! Fun! Gotta find my notes =P
Wanted to say GOOD LUCK to Kels and Bubble Boy D on their ICS22 mid today at 3:30.
*sigh*... just took my last midterm and now i'm in the lovely CS lab waiting/studying until 1pm for my education class so i can take my weekly quiz. Blah... tests up the butt. I also forgot to mention yesterday was my ICS23 miderm. OMFG that was hard!!! I realized after i got out of the midterm that i screwed up on the last question.... which was one of the easiest questions >=( I just hope i got at least the mean. Everyone wish me luck!!! (I'm REALLY gonna need it). I guess the upside to all this is that i'm done with midterms. Now it's time to pay attention until finals. I can't slack. Last quarter i slacked just the slightest bit and i BARELY got good grades. I missed an A- in ICS22 just by like... maybe 2 points... i swear. Damn those boarderlines. Makes you wanna scream.
