Try taking family portraits with MY family. Sar did us a HUGE favor by letting us use her employee discount at Sear's Portrait Studio so that we could take an up-to-date family portrait and to (finally) take my sister and my graduation pictures.
Our appointment was at 6pm. We got there at 5:45pm. After 65 negatives, we walked out of the studio with about 16 pictures that my mom, dad, and sister actually like. I admit i wanted to retake some too, but OMG. The rest of my family. I swear it's like pulling teeth without any anesthetics... only worse. Oh yah... we walked out or sears at 9pm.
I feel so bad, but i want to thank Sar soooooooooooooooo much for all she's done. I love you cutie!

I turn 24...
and what's the first thing i hear at 7:45am? Not "Happy Birthday!" Not "Goodmorning Birthday Boy!" Nope... what i hear is, "Hey Damon, can you work today?"
Yup. I got called into work because i needed to backfill for one of the guys that had to go see a doctor because of his blindness. The only good thing is that i only have to work 6 hour days because it takes me 2 hours to drive, and since IBM is limiting overtime, that 2 hour drive is included in my 8 total hours. Woot!
Sar took me out to Shinano for japanese food. We ordered sooooo much food! Was really good! Then she insisted on stopping by Baker's Square to pick up a Happy Birthday Banana Creme Pie, which we ate with my family back home. My sister bought Fossilmans (sp?) Coconut Pineapple Ice cream too.
Even though it wasn't a very eventful day, i'm glad i got to celebrate/spend it with the people i love the most.

I LOVE MY GIRLFRIEND!!!
Damn... i got one-upped. Sara and Hollie had me fooled. About two weeks ago, both of them were planning a bonfire at Huntington Beach on June 19th (this coming Saturday). So i thought, how convenient, the weekend before my birthday. Being that i like catching Sara on these little schemes of hers, i called her on it. She denied it from the beginning, so i just rolled my eyes and said whatever.
This whole time i still thought that was the real reason behind it, and i was determined to catch her, and on Friday... i thought i did ("thought" is the operative word here). She was getting a few phone calls and she was being very selective in terms of what she did and did not say while i was there. So here we go... me trying to find out what she was up to... and i was able to finally get it out of her. Yes! So i was right... the bonfire was for me! Hahhaha... i'm goooooood! =P
So Saturday i didn't do anything but sit around the house and watch TV, waiting for Sara to get off work at 6:30pm. I knew we were supposed to meet Jason and Hollie at Bucca di Beppos in Pasadena for dinner. We were running late since Sara didn't get off work until about 8pm.
When we finally get there, i walk in to find a whole table full of my friends (which kinda confused me) and then i hear Jason scream at the top of his lungs, "SURPRISE!!!" I see, Kelly, Derek, Jenn and her new Boyfriend, Sandy and Jeremy, the sis, Jason, and Hollie snapping pictures of me walking in. What a cool surprise! Turns out Sara had planned this whole thing. Gosh... i feel so undeserving. I love you so much, Sara!
It was a great party, but they made me drink an Adios Motherf-cker and by the time we were driving out of the lot... i went "Adios". =X It had been a year since i last had alcohol... and my tolerance is sh*t. I'm pretty sure even Sara has a better tolerance than i do now, and that's pretty bad =P
We ended the night chit-chatting back at my place until about 2am. It was only Derek, Kelly, Hollie, Sara, my sis, Jason, and me. Everyone else left home early due to the long drive ahead of them.
Thanks to everyone who made it out there. I understand Irv, Leo, Mel, Will, Peter, Mary, Janice, and Rena were supposed to make it out, but weren't able to. I'm sorry to hear that you couldn't make it, but still... thanks to everyone!
And i still stand by my words.... 24 is not an age to celebrate anything. It doesn't mean anything. 25 = a quarter century. Now THAT says i'm an OLD FART. But since i had people i care about with me to celebrate it, now 24 means something. Thanks everyone!

One of our techs left IBM today cuz her contract expired. About 15 of us went to Souplantation to have lunch and say our good-byes.
I made a salad out of Iceberg lettuce, spinach, mushrooms, cucumbers, celery, cheddar cheese, carrots, eggs, sunflower seeds, green bell peppers, and pasta.
The salad was really good... until i bit down on something hard. I was able to get it out of my mouth without spitting everything else out, and found a piece of metal. Looked like a chewed up staple (probably cuz i was chewing on it).
I half-jokingly asked the table if i should sue Souplantation. I eventually called the manager over and told him. He asked me what was in my salad and said he was gonna pull all the items off of the buffet line.
After he did that, he came over and told me he found a whole bunch in the iceberg lettuce, and presented me with a complimentary meal pass (with drink).
What he should've done is given all my coworkers one. Oh well...
