Wow... an entire weekend dedicated to / wasted on installing car stereo equipment. Gosh i'm so tired. Since my car is so small, it's hard to get in the back of my car and reach for things and trying to get things to fit. All that bending down made my back hurt. Ah well... the end product is what i want and i'm loving the extra bass i'm feelin'. It feels nice cuz it's kinda like a massage on wheels. It's just too bad i'm gonna need hearing aids in the next 3 months. =P Not much else to talk about other than i didn't get ANY homework done. Well.. at least i don't have midterms like Sunny. Good luck homie!

Valuable lesson #1: When your friend says he can build you a custom subwoofer enclosure... don't believe him.
Valuable lesson #2: In the event you DO believe him... set aside 7 hours to waste.
Valuable lesson #3: Know how to install in your specific car before attempting anything.
Valuable lesson #4: Expect failure.
Valuable lesson #5: Expect to waste money.
Valuable lesson #6: Just buy the damn pre-built box.

Hahah... all-in-all it wasn't a bad experience. It's not as bad as how i made it sound in my "Valuable lesson # X" statments. Elg, Pooks, my Dad, and me spent the whole 7 hours (from 12 - 7) doing various things. While Elg and my Dad were trying to cut the wood with the "not up to standard" wood-working tools, me and Pooks tried to figure out how to get the power cables from the battery to the trunk. It took a while for us to find a way to get the damn wire through the fire-wall. We just ended up drilling a hole and sticking the wire through. Elgin was responsible for drilling the hole. That's about the only thing that we accomplished today. Hahaha. It's ok. It's a learning experience. What did we learn? Don't think building a box is easy. It's HARD work.... especially when you don't have the right tools, so i don't blame Elgin for anything. In all honesty, i appreciate him for trying to save me some money in this project. In fact, i'm still saving money on just the install itself. So yah, THANKS ELG!

So i guess tomorrow i'm gonna go pick up a pre-made box and just do without the custom enclosure. We had Pooky's Digi-cam but we were so caught up with installing we didn't take any pics. We'll try to take some tomorrow. =) So until tomorrow... gnites...

"How many monkeys does it take to install two subs and an amp?" - Apparently none since we didn't finish.... LOL

Back from a 5-day hiatus. I'm SOOOOOOO fricken tired. Again i waste a friday at school. 10 hours in the lab. I must reek of ICS-nerd B-O. =P Didn't finish... AGAIN. Frick it's gettin harder and harder...

Not much more to talk about other than i'm gettin my subs installed tomorrow. I'll have Pooks bring his digi-cam so we can take pics of the install and i'll have a new picture section up shortly thereafter, at least i hope i will.

Laziness has gotten the best of me. I could be doing homework right now... actually what i should be doing is sleeping, but i'm not. I guess i'm used to it now. I'm back on my nocturnal sleeping schedule and i think JAVA has been partly to blame for it. Oh well... so here goes saturday and today...

I went to the Chinese New Years Festival and Car Show with AIM-man-ho (hahhaha!) around 12pm. My aunt had called me earlier and said traffic and parking was pretty bad and that there were no more spaces at the apartment to park. The parade was gonna start at 2 and if i wanted to find a place to park, i had better go before they blocked off the streets. When i got to my grandma's place, i saw my grandma standing in a parking space waiting for me. How cool is that? Anyways, the festival was pretty.... wutevers. Wasn't very interesting and the car show was small... but had some pretty nice cars. No car hoochies. There was one signing autographed pics, but she wasn't very attractive to begin with. Ah well... they never really are =P We walked around for a bit, saw Elg and then left for home. Met up with Johnny and Pooks, went to Battlestation for some CS-ing, and went to JJ's Cafe to eat. Funny thing was JJ's seemed like a mini Schurr High reunion. We saw a whole bunch of people we knew. Damn... everywhere we go, there's always a 90% chance we'll see someone we know. Got back home around 3am.

Woke up this morning... Sandy helps me a lil with my latest JAVA program, and then off to Santa Anita Todai with my aunt, uncle, cousin, mom, and sis. Woohoo! Free lunch at a Buffet! NICE! After eating we walked into Robinsons May cuz my aunt needed to pick up a gift for a friend. I started wandering around the area and found a bottle of "Clinique for Men" I sprayed some on and i kinda liked it. My mom liked it... but my sister and cousin say it was a lil "girly>" ???????? dude... anyone else have an opinion on this? I really like this one... but if it's girly.... i don't think i'll get it.

After i got back i went out with Elg to pick up two 10" MTX subs and an MTX amp. Spent a total of $183. Not bad huh? Two MTX subs and an amp? Gonna build a custom box and do the install ourselves this saturday. So if you don't hear from me next saturday nite... i probably F-ed up and fried myself. Come visit me in the hospital! Crappola... i need an oil change..... *argh* wut da heck?? STUPID PC!!!!! Man... i hate my computer....

Ok.. sorry...but i'm gonna bitch and complain about JAVA again.... so bear with me...

Lab projects are due every friday nite at 11:59:59 pm. Guess what, today WAS friday and i turned in my lab at exactly 11:50 pm. I was in the lab from 3 pm till 12 am. That's nine fricken - A hours of sitting in front of the computer in a stuffy CS lab trying desperately to get my program to work. It probably would've been longer if i hadn't overslept today and missed the TA office hours from 1 - 2pm. Oh well, anyways..... apparently 9 hours isn't enough. I didn't finish. This is the first lab i wasn't able to complete. The last three i was able to finish and get perfect scores. This one was just too hard. Writing code from scratch is no easy task. It takes a lot of thinking, planning, and organizing. I really think we should've gotten more than a week on this project. Even April knows that no one in real life writes up an entire program by themselves. But then again, it's not like the one i wrote was 100,000+ lines of code long. It was more like 1500. Well... 4 more programs to go, one of which will be in scheme... which is another computer language. I'm not too worried about that one. I'm actually looking forward to it, since it is a new language and that means the lab will be easy =)

Johnny and Elgin gave me a surprise visit while i was in the CS lab today. They just decided to come down to UCI cuz they were bored. After i turned in my (incomplete) lab, they went with me to In-n-out to grab a bite. I had not eaten since 2 pm. The life of a ICS student nerd.... *sigh*.

There's a Chinese New Year Festival/Car show at Chinatown tomorrow. If you're gonna be there look for me. I'll probably be at the car show. =P

Time for well deserved rest... g'nites yo's

I was able to bump up my Discrete math score from a 79 to an 82 today. Not bad. I also got my midterm score back for ICS 22 (JAVA). I got a 53.5. Not bad, huh? That's pretty much an "A" since the mean was 47.41 and is considered a "B". I think i'm gonna be ok this quarter *knock on wood*. Congrats to Mel and the Jerk on their ICS 22 scores also. They did better than me actually =) Good job guys!!! Also congrats to Kel on her 21 midterm =).

I feel like pistachio nut ice-cream..... =P

I didn't realize it, but it's been a year since i've been using blogger. February 6, 2001. Go check out the archives!

Everything has been school oriented lately. I haven't been thinking about much else. I guess it explains why i'm so stressed all the time and haven't been having much fun. Which in turn means i have nothing interesting for you people to read ( at least for those of you who do read this ). I actually napped today. I haven't done that in ages. Last quarter when i was able to come back home early, i was always able to take a nap and then do some homework. It felt good and now that i was able to do it today, it felt great. I probably won't be as tired tomorrow either. I guess that's a good thing since this weeks' programming assignment is gonna be hard. Ack..there i go talking about JAVA again. Ok... gotta stop...

Chinese New Year is tomorrow and Tuesday. Valentines Day is this Thursday. Pretty cool.... money =) V-Day? *shrug* I think most of you kno what my standpoint on St. Valentine's Day is. If you don't remember, here's kinda what i put a year ago....

Wednesday, February 14, 2001
"Valentine's Day... do i really need to celebrate it? I have two sides to this quote-unquote Holiday. One being that i think this holiday is just another scam by Hallmark and Chocolate makers to give us another excuse to spend money on people."

My position is still pretty much the same. It's an ok holiday, but it's not too significant... at least for me. I'll probably end up programming that nite.... (DAMMIT... there i go again).

I guess that's it fow now. I don't really have much more to say. I can't think... my program is hard... ARGH!!.... ok.. no more.....

ARGH!!! Missed a B by one stinking point! Can you believe that ish? I emailed the TA thinking i was right on one of the problems and that they had marked it wrong. I get an email back with just this much.... "y must be even." Word for word, that's what the TA put. I go look at the question and it turns out he's right. DOH!!! I'm such a fricken retard... and that's not the only question i missed by being stupid. My stupidity cost me a solid B.

I guess not all is lost. I guess it could've been worse. But still... i wish i opened my eyes just a lil more. Now all i have to wait for is the JAVA midterm scores to come out. EEEEESHH..... do i really wanna know? A "B" grade... that's all i want... that's all i ask for... please? Anyways... very tired... think i should go shower............................yes.................................i should.

Haven't really had time to post anything worth reading lately. Life has been revolving mainly around school and all i ever talk about are my labs that are due every friday at 11:59:59 pm. I guess that's why no one comments and why i'm losing visitors. =P I'm an ICS nerd. So sue me. Well.. maybe not. I don't think i smell like one, as Kelly pointed out today... we were in the first floor CS lab programming since our math lecture had gotten cancelled. I was trying to finish up my lab and Kel was practicing for her lab exam tomorrow (GOOD LUCK!!). It's so sad... i was in that lab from 1pm till 8pm, minus 10 minutes going to class and finding out it got cancelled. Melody was in there doing her lab for most of the day too. Anyways... Kel commented on how the lab smelled of dirty socks. Funny how i've never really noticed, but since it got brought up....now i do =X. Hehe... if(ICS = = I Can't Shower), boolean nerdsWhoSmell = true; There's some code for all you JAVA literates out there =). Dude... now that i think about it more.... it really DOES stink in there. Doesn't help that there are no windows either. eeeeeewwwwwwww! I gotta get out by next year. Now i have something to motivate me =). Anyways... DAMMIT.... i'm talking about JAVA again.. oh well... Midterms are this week. That's something sorta not JAVA related =P. I got one on wed and one on thurs. Blah.. must study like a madman. I think i should make like Bed Time Bear and go get some sleep. Good nites ya'll! Good luck on all your midterms and wish me luck on mine... (cuz i'm gonna need it).
