I've finally stepped over the line. I've managed to stay on the other side for quite sometime, but i just couldn't anymore. I've become one of them... a *typical* Asian. I got a cellular phone. Like whoa... just like that i'm classified as a typical Asian. Don't roll your eyes at me... you know it's true. Practically every Asian on the UCI campus has a cell phone. I think the amount of asians at UCI is something like 45%. So if you walk onto our campus, i'm sure you'll find at least 20 people using their cell at any given point, at any given time. I drive a Honda too... with intentions of turning it into a rice-rocket.......HA!

So a lil recap on what happened since my last post...

Thursday i went to eat J-food at Tenko with Kelly. We tried going last week but when we pulled up, it looked like it was closed... as in "Out of Business" closed. *shrug* At least it's open now and it's actually quite a busy restaurant. There were a lot of people and we actually had to wait for a table. The food was pretty good and it was pretty cheap. After dinner i went to meet up with Melody to go work on our JAVA labs. We were at the CS lab from 8pm till about 1am just trying to figure stuff out. I guess we made some progress but we still weren't finished. I got home around 2am and started working on my lab again. Funny thing is i kept working on it and at 4am i got my program to work. Huh... stroke of luck i guess, cuz i sure didn't kno what i was doing.... hehe...

I woke up late for my doctors appointment. It was scheduled for 10am but i didn't get up until 10:15. hehe.. oh well. Kaiser is only 5 minutes away. All i had to do was go check my blood pressure. It actually went up a bit, but i guess that's mainly because of all the stress that's been going on with ICS22. If this stress keeps up i sweat i'm gonna have a heart attack while programming. Just watch.... "UCI student dies of heart-attack in CS Labs." That's what they're gonna run in the school newspaper. =X I had to meet up with my TA at 2pm at the CS lab again. So 12 hours later i'm back in the chair i'm sitting in, trying to work on my lab and bombarding my TA with questions. At around 4 i decide to turn in my lab and i decided to check if my lab worked as intended one last time. Guess what... i found a MAJOR bug in the code. =P It took me another 2 hours to figure out what was wrong. Luckily i had some help from my new ICS buddy Mike. He hooked it up. I had called a static StringBuffer which caused my program to loop my results. I would've never figured that out. Once i took off the static tag, my program worked.

Now i have to start on a new lab. We're working with GUI's. Yay. *twirls finger* I think i'm gonna die this week. Haha... "and the cycle continues..."

Hmm... to think last quarter i was going, "Dude... JAVA is gonna be a walk in the park." Well... that statement would still be true if that park was at an Army training field littered with more land-mines than a kitty-litter box that hasn't been changed in 3 weeks. =P I've never been so tired and so stressed-out since first quarter Freshman year. I guess this kind of stress is good. It's making me work hard and because i work so hard, when i finish a lab and it works... the satisfaction is exhilarating =) Oooooohhhh Damon's using BIG words. Hahaha. Anyways...

Posts are getting pretty infrequent. All my computer time is being devoted to my Labs. Remember how MP3's were a HOBBY of mine? Well.. i guess i just lost a hobby. I haven't downloaded anything new in a looooong time. Let's see..the last song i downloaded....Busta Rhymes - "As I Come Back." Pretty old stuff. =/ Even when i'm online... it's not because i'm chatting with people (well actually i am sometimes, but even that's for HW), it's because i'm waiting for reply emails from my various TA's responding to my questions about my lab. This is the first day since friday i've found a little bit of time to just relax and sit down for a while with no worries. It's mainly cuz i have about 85% of my Lab done. I still have to comment it out, write up my test case report, and do a few miscellaneous things inside the actual lab. Not too much to worry about. I'm koo.

I guess there's a good side to all this stress. Since i'm always at school and worrying about my lab and constantly choosing to do homework/study rather than eat, i'm actually losing weight. Albeit it's not a whole lot... but hey i guess it's better than nothing. But that can also mean i'm just wasting away. I really should start exercising and should try to get back into shape. What's the point in losing weight when most of it is still flab and none of it is muscle? Maybe i'll take up April's offer to go play some tennis with her and Kel next week. Dunno... gotta see how my next lab goes. *Sigh* and the cycle continues...

I guess i'll post a lil bit today...

I dunno. I'm just one big fat stress-ball. I dunno why i get so stressed or why i put myself through so much stress. I really don't need to be subjecting myself through the tortuous ICS minor, yet i push on. Sara says it's an "admirable quality." I say it's just me attempting to torture myself slowly and surely to my deathbed. =X Computer Science isn't what i want to do for the rest of my life. Sitting in a 8x8 sq ft. cubicle behind a computer screen writing code is definately NOT what i want to be doing for the rest of my life. Don't get me wrong... i love computers. It's just i don't "love" the software end of it. I like hands on... tangible stuff. I was talking to Johnny for the past 3 hours and he basically told me what i've just told you. Hands-on is what's for me. It's true though. Give me some computer parts and i'll put it together for you. It's not too hard. I guess it comes from me loving Legos all my life. I still love 'em to this day... just that they're becoming a rather expensive hobby. In anycase, it's not like i'm thinking about giving up on the minor right now. I'm not gonna get beat up that easily. I think that's one of my *good* qualities: persistance. Although at times i do believe it'll be my downfall =P

I'm bored. My own computer is defragmenting itself so i'm on my sisters computer, so i can't finish up the rest of my program just yet. I haven't defragmented in... "Holy-geez Batman!!!"... i don't remember =X I guess that explains why my computer is running out of memory all the time and being SOOOOO SLLLLOOOOOOWWW.

Anyways... no one's AIM-ing me back so i started looking at profiles... found this one on Kelly's Info... Blogger Code and it gave me this as my "Code": B6 d- t- k++ s u-- f i- o x- e l+ c. Dunno what this is? Look closer at the survey options. After each question, it has part of the code. It's basically the answers you selected. Stupid huh? I thought so too... but then i looked up top and there are decoders found here. I tried it and cut/pasted my "blog-code" into it and it generated the results into a readable form. It's just the answers put in a big paragraph. Kinda cool cuz it's just simple coding techniques. It's funny how ever since i've learned how to code in JAVA and C++, i tend to look at computer applications in a whole new way. I always wonder what the source code looks like and what the underlying structure of it is. Ok... i'm sounding REALLY nerdy...

Anyways so my day yesterday was pretty much run-of-the-mill. Woke up... went to school... went to class... work on program. I started my day at 9am, and ate a sandwich for breakfast. Left the house at 9:45am and got to school around 10:30. Parking takes forever as usual so i just barely made my first class at 11. Ended class at 6pm, then went to help Melody with her program and work on mine. We ended up staying at the CS (computer science) lab for 4 fricken-A hours. Why? Cuz of four fricken-A problems that somehow i failed to see. I was about to beat the living crap outta the computer =X So i fixed it and i finally got my program to work and I helped Melody get her program to work as well. Dude... this programming stuff is hard, but at least it seems i'm able to do it. =/

It also turned out that i picked the worst day to stay at school and skip dinner. Oh yah, lemme add in the fact why i mentioned i had a sandwich for breakfast... it's mainly cuz that was the only thing i ate for the entire day. =P I didn't have any food in me from probably around 11am until 12am. WooHoo!! No food for 13 straight hours (Well... i had water). I stopped by Kelly and April's dorm since Curtis was visiting and April gave me a bag of Morning-Mix to munch on =) THANKS BUDDIE! Why it was the worst day to miss dinner at home was because my mom had cooked a roast for dinner. DAMMIT! WTH?? It was like x-mas dinner at my place. Oh well... i came home and ate leftovers.

Whoa...this blog is getting long... guess i'll stop for now and go see how my own computer is doing. Hey... i just noticed it's a lot easier for me to type on these regular keyboards. I normally use a Micorsoft "Natural" keyboard. Guess all the programming these past few days has gotten me used to it. Ah-well... life goes on.

Today was A LOT better... seriously. The thing that got me so stressed last night was the fact that i just couldn't figure out how to get my program to work the way i THOUGHT my professor had wanted it, so i basically just gave up last nite and just went to bed. So this morning i had my LARC tutor discussion for my JAVA class and asked for some help. Turns out i was completely wrong about the assignment. It turns out i'm able to write it out the way that is much easier than what i that thought. My original idea was to create code that would be simple and reusable. That is something that would be require a lot of thinking and isn't required at this level. I'm sure i could do it... but i'd need A LOT of help. So instead i can create code and instead of reusing similar code.. i can just repeat it. For all you non programmers out there... repeating code makes the coding process long and tedious... but it's SOOOO much easier =). Anyways... so I Can Sleep! For now anyway =)

Kelly and Melody met for the first time today because me and Kel needed some help on our Discrete Math homework and Melody offered to help. Melody is the BOMB... LOL... huh Mel? So Kelly made a new friend today so now we're all ICS buddies!.... ICS baby...fo life.

Really quick... check out this site Kelly told me about today... www.paperclipporn.com.. click on "Nude Clips" hehehheheh....

Damn my PC (Piece of Crap as Kelly would call it) is fricken slow... damn mouse is skipping all over the damn place. I think i need more ram... no wait, scratch that... i need a new Computer...=/

Posts have been becoming more and more infrequent due to my ever increasing stress level. ICS22 is kicking my butt already and it's barely the second week of classes. Discrete Math is slowly getting harder and harder... which just reminded me that i have to go check what the new homework set is... hang on...

Well... 31 questions for the homework assignment and it's due next wednesday. Yah.. that may seem like a lot of time... but with so much pressure coming down from ICS22... i really don't have much free time. The program is so hard for me to grasp... yet the general concept seems relatively easy. There are people in the class that have already finished the program. If i can see the path of how this program is supposed to run.. i think (*hope*) i'll be ok. =/ It's only the first program and i have 7 more to go througout the course of this class. I'm so tired.... =(

I have no idea what the heck was wrong with me last night. I couldn't fall asleep until 6am! I went to bed around 3am and started reading The Great Gatsby. I was almost done with the book so i just decided to finish it. I finished the book around 4am and tried to get some sleep. Then all of a sudden it hit me that i had emailed the guy i was gonna sell my psych book to the wrong times to meet up. So i got up and re-emailed him the correct times and then got back into bed. By then it was already 5am. Then i started coughing like crazy. WTH?!?! The coughing was so bad i couldn't sleep so i got up and took some medicine. By then my mom was already up making breakfast for my sister. She got up extra early this morning because Schurr's Marching Band was taking their yearbook photo. The medicine finally kicked in right around 6am when my mom and sis left for school. I was dreading today thinking i'd lagging all day, but it was quite the opposite. I wasn't too bad and didn't really doze off in class. Tired yes.. but no sleeping so that's cool.

It's been so long since i've taken a yearbook photo with the old H.S. band. Last time i took it was junior year. I missed my Senior year pic because i had totally forgotten about it. If you look in the 1998 yearbook... i'm not there =) Johnny isn't either. He had the same reaction that morning when we got to school. Several of us were waiting outside for zero period but the door was closed. Me and Johnny thought zero period had been cancelled and we didn't know about it. Then band members started walking from inside the campus in uniform. Hahaha.... i was like.. oops. Delwin looked at me and Johnny and was like, "Where the heck where you two?" Oh well... no biggie. I guess the extra sleep was well worth it. The reason why they make us wake up so early is because the band needs time to suit up, then get lined up, and then wait for the sun to come up so the lighting would be just right. Too bad it never turns out that way. The three years i did take the band photo, we had always missed the perfect lighting time. I think it's stupid =) Dumb photographers... just take the damn picture.

I think i'm gonna *try* to get some more sleep tonight. I still have math homework to do, so i'm gonna do a little of that before i head off to bed. On another side note, Kelly was able to add Math Lecture and Math Discussion today =). Seeeee Kel.....nothing to worry about =).

No encounters with police cars tonight. Mainly because there was a lot of traffic coming back home. Oh well... better than speeding, hehehhe.

Guess what?? I *almost* got a speeding ticket coming back home tonight. Lemme-break-it-down-fo-ya.... I had just dropped off Kelly and April after eating dinner at Claim Jumpers ( I got my favorite Meat-loaf sandwich... it's GOOOOD ), and started to head back home. This was around 930pm. I get on the 73 N and there wasn't much traffic so i just zoomed right along. After a while i noticed a white car in the lane to my immediate right, but didn't think anything of it. As i got closer i saw some reflective writing on the trunk and just assumed it was either a rent-a-cop who couldn't do sqat or a taxi. When i finally got close enough to see that it read, "Newport Beach Police" it was too late. I looked at my speedo and it read 90mph. $@)(%$@&)#!@#$~!!!!! I was screwed. I immediately let go of the accelerator hoping to slow down enough, but the car was already going too fast. I managed to pass him at around 80mph... he was prolly going about 70mph. When i passed him all i kept thinking was.... frick...frick...frick.... and then it happened.... he put his spotlight on me and i thought i was dead, but then he turned it off and turned off on the 91 W. DUUUUUUDE.... i am SOOOO LUCKY. He only warned me by doing that. Damn Irvine police cars!!! They're all white and hardly ever have the light-bar on top so you can't tell. Hmm.. i guess that is the point =P. If it was a CHP car. I would've gotten pulled over for sures. By the time i got on the 405N everyone was doing about 80 so i was koo. Dayum... scary.

Anyways.. it's late now. It's about 3:15am and i got early class tomorrow. So hasta la bye-bye. Oh yah... i have a new nickname. Well.. not really a nickname.... Kelly addresses me by snapping her fingers to get my attention =) HAHAHHAHAHA!

First day of class today. Not too bad. I only sat through my Discreet math (ICS6A) class tho. I dropped my International Business (Econ169B) since i'm anticipating a heavy workload this quarter with all the ICS stuff i gotta do. BLAH... i'm gonna die =( I miss the schedule i had last quarter. It was relatively fun, considering i knew what i was getting into and i had some confidence in doing well. This quarter i'm terrified. Discreet Math is scaring me to death and ICS22 (2nd series of the JAVA courses) is making me reconsider the minor since it's A LOT harder than ICS21 (I got an "A"). *Sigh* even though i'm peeing in my pants, i shouldn't get discouraged so easily. Hopefully i'll be fine. At least this quarter i have more friends going to classes with me. I got Melody again in 22 so we'll have each other's backs there and Ray will be there too so he'll be a good ally. Kelly's taking ICS6A with me so at least we can duke it out together and in the end...we won't die alone =P. Hm... guess this quarter won't be so bad afterall. Let's see my tone of voice in about 3-4 weeks from now... heheheh

The Griffith Observatory closed it's doors tonight at 10pm and will stay closed for the next 3 years because of a renovation project. I wish i had known about this earlier instead of the 45 minutes before it officially closed. I would have liked to visit one last time before the doors shut. I only remember going there once with my parents and my sister a few years back. The Rents say i've been there before, but i don't think i can remember that far back. Believe it or not, i actually have an interest in *cool* stuff like this. Yes... deep down, i'm a nerd.

I guess i'm finally over being sick. Still coughing a little, but nothing bad. Looks like the weather is going to be nice this week. Low 70's is better than Low 60's. =) Guess i'll survive for class tomorrow.... YAY.... umm.. i think? Oh well.. better than having to go to class feeling like crap and not paying attention. This way i can go to class feeling good and then sleeping well.... hehehhehehe. j/k!

So tomorrow (actually today) is the first day of classes for me *whoopdie-dooo... twirls finger*. Break hasn't been much of a break. Didn't really do much besides eat and chill with the guys. It's nothing special since i see those foolios all the time anyway =P. We should really find something to do. We've done just about everything there is to do in this town. Hey... LET'S GO TO THE ZOO!!! Forreal! I know Johnny's down to go! Any other takers? I'm SERIOUS!!!

Well... guess it's about time to start reading about my rantings about school again. Oh.. before i do start my rants... have some fun with THIS... and maybe win something while you're at it.... (Click "What's New" and then Click "Free Stuff" and play the game)

I didn't post very much yesterday because i pretty much felt like crap. If you don't already know, i'm reeeeaallly sick. I've been coughing since saturday which was also the reason why i didn't feel like doing anything for new years. I finally decided to go see a doctor yesterday (thursday). I made the appointment for 3:30 and went down to UCI to buy my books. I had my dad come with me so he would use his credit card instead... hehehehe. The total came out to like $300. Rip off. Colleges are not education institutions... they're FINANCIAL institutions disguised as an educational institution. If you think otherwise... no one can help you. You are a lost cause.

The visit with the doctor was fairly short compared to the wait to actually see him. I sat in the waiting room for at least 30 minutes before going in. The nurse took my temperature and checked my blood pressure. I scored a 164. A normal person my age should fall below 140. Shoot. Guess i'm gonna die of a heart attack or something. Come to my funeral please? I promise you'll be in my will. =) Then i waited in the room for another 15 minutes before the doctor came in. He spent about 5 minutes checking me, gave me a prescription, and got me outta there. Yah baby. HMO's. It's all about economics and being a financial institution. This country is going to hell. =/

I picked up my medication this morning. I got some antibiotics for infection and codine for my cough. I knocked out 10 minutes after ingesting that stuff. I spent most of my day in bed. Funny thing is i'm still tired, but i feel a little better.

I had a dream while i was knocked out. I dreamt that my car was stolen. This is the second time i had a dream like that. I seriously freaked out. If you know me at all, you know i LOVE my car. When i first got the car, i drove it to school and between classes, i would literally baby-sit my car. I'd get out of class... grab some food and go sit in my car until my next class. I did that for about 2 weeks until i got lazy. I still worry now... just not as bad i guess. It's my baby!!!!!

Well, almost time to take my medication... yuck.

Me and Johnny went down to Old Town Pasadena to check out the "Food Bowl" they were having today. Various restaurants from around the area set up booths on the street and sold food. There were a few booths that looked pretty appetizing... Islands for one... but we didn't get anything since the fair required us to use tickets that were sold in a strip of 9 for $5. Traffic was murder to and from Old Town BTW. We left after walking about 30 min and Johnny just dropped me off back home.

That's my day... and i'm still sick =(

Happy New Year! And so goes another year. It's amazing how fast the time goes by these days. I guess it's cuz i'm OLD. Damn... 21 years of life on this planet and it feels like i've accomplished just about nothing. I swear i'm already having my midlife crisis. I already want a Porsche 911 GT3 dammit! It's just i can't afford it yet. =/ Oh well... my baby will do for now, since it IS a sports car.

In anycase... if you didn't do anything this new years eve/day, don't worry. I didn't do anything. I sat at home and watched Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back on my sister's computer. If you like stupid movies about nothing with an all-star cast... go watch it... it's random as heck and funny to boot, although a lot of people think it sucks. In a sense it does... but it has it's good points =).

Every year i make a new year's resolution, but i never keep it. I guess i'll just make one again this year for the sake of tradition. Who knows... maybe it'll come true =)
