Happy Halloween... i'm not being festive tho. I think the last time i actually dressed up and went trick-o-treating was.... when i was in junior high. Eh...it doesn't really matter. I've out-grown it and i don't really like candy anyway. If you kno me... you kno i'm pretty much anti-chocolate. Altho today i saw some students and faculty dress up. I saw Winnie-the-Pooh, little Bo Peep, couple of bumble bees, few face paints, Nurses, hookers, transvestites... =P and others that i forget. I dunno.. i don't really care. Just another day on the calendar. * * * * *Tuesday, October 30, 2001Dang... my hand hurts from massive writing. I haven't written this much since.... sophomore year! I walked into that Pol Sci midterm thinking we'd get multiple choice, true / false questions, and some fill-in-the-blanks. Turns out, the whole test was a short answer / definition kind of midterm. I'm so not used to writing stuff out long hand anymore. I've been so computer oriented lately. Even last nite while trying to memorize the 4th Amendment, i was rehersing it using the keyboard. Mainly cuz my parents didn't feel like getting off their lazy butts to go out and have lunch. So i cooked... sorta. The pasta was already made so i just made the spaghetti sauce and cooked up some SPAM. I dunno..it was lunch.. wutever. Anywhoo..i've decided not to keep the AEM intake since it doesn't exactly fit (See previous post). I'll give it back this weekend and i'll ask him about spoilers and body kits..since that's what i really want. All show and no go, baby! I'd rather look good slow and alive than fast and possibly dead. =P * * * * *Saturday, October 27, 2001I FINALLY gave my baby (my car) a wash today. First time since i had it re-painted. A little soap and water... some vacumming... helps a lot! =) Anyways, i was right, the paint isn't as shiny as it was before i got the re-paint. Bastards didn't give me the same amount of paint and pearl coating. Oh well.. at least it doesn't have 5 different shades of white anymore. At least it's clean. I also had an AEM short-ram intake installed yesterday by my friend John over at Elevated Pro-Tuning in Walnut. For those of you non-car types... it's basically an aftermarket replacement for the airbox in the car.. only it makes A LOT OF NOISE. Hehehe...VROOOOOM! The only thing is that it's supposed to be for a 90-93 Acura Integra. Altho it fits a lil snug... it fits, but i dunno if i wanna keep it. It's just too fun to rev the engine and drive at faster speeds just to hear the roar of the engine. Ok..that's it...i gotta get rid of it....plus the fact it's gonna cost me $80. Oh well.. i'd rather get one that fits my car well, and then have fun! MUAHAHHAHAH!!!! (evil grin) >=) * * * * *Friday, October 26, 2001Ended up not going to the ARC today... (sorry kelly!!!), but for sures next week =). Main reason why is cuz we took forever just to decide where we wanted to go eat. Hahaha..gotta change that...gosh we're so lame.... We ended up at California Pizza Kitchen... first time trying the Tandori Chicken. It came with this weird...plum looking/tasting kinda sauce. It tasted good tho. God that waiter bugged the crap outta me... he was TOO nice. Figures... when you need the waiter..he's never there.. when you don't need him..he's ALWAYS there. Oh yah... the professor gave the distribution of scores today for the ICS midterm i had. The Mean was a 13 and set as a "B" and the standard deviation was one..so it looked something like this.... * * * * *Thursday, October 25, 2001Oh GOD i'm sore... gotta love the ARC! I've been such a lazy bum. I should go tomorrow... but then again, i may just change my mind again. Bumming it is fun =). Well... maybe Kelly will go with me... i guess i'll hear what she says and then i'll make my decision...hahhahaha! It's about time i made another CD to listen to in my car. I'm starting to get sick of Michelle Branch cuz it's been in my car deck since i got it last Saturday. It's still a good CD and i like it a lot, but the fact is that i've probably gone through the whole cd about 20 times now...damn the drive to school...so yah.. i think it's time for a new CD. * * * * *Wednesday, October 24, 2001YEA BABY!!!!! I GOT A 19 / 25 ON MY ICS MIDTERM!!!!! Ok.... done celebrating... =P * * * * *Tuesday, October 23, 2001Thanks to Caroline, Sara, and Kel for wishing me luck on my ICS 21 midterm!! GOOD LUCK to all of you when your respective midterms come around! I think i did ok... i don't wanna jinx it. But i feel like it was easier this time around... probably cuz i've already taken C++ and JAVA is similar, and this time i actually studied. I dunno.. we'll see how i do. I feel pretty good. Just hope the outcome is the same way. Today was a pretty blah day. I had my ups and downs. Woke up at 8am (down), and ate Burger King tater-tots for breakfast (another down), and started my 40mile one-way trip to UCI (BIGGEST DOWN). I get to the 605 freeway entrance and find it's closed! So i gotta detour.. which takes off 10 minutes of my drive time (down). I get to school and i get a parking space pretty fast... actually.. right up front (UP!!!!!).. then i walk to class (down). My first class is LARC tutoring for ICS, which has been VERY helpful in this class. I recommend it to anyone struggling in ANY class. After that i stayed in the Science library to study with Melody for our midterm. It helps you study when you can explain things to other people and make sense doing it =). I ditched my 12:30pm Psych class to study (UP!!!) so that gave me an extra 2 hours. After a while of studying... both of us started getting sleepy and decided to get some coffee at the Humanities Instructional Bldg. They have this Java smoothie (no..java as the coffee kinda java you freaks....) that tastes ...umm.. ok... hey..it's not starbucks.. altho it costs about that much =P About half-way to class, i realize the damn drink has been dripping all over my shirt. So i have this huge coffee stain running from my chest to the bottom of the shirt. (Obviously a down). So i take the test.... get out and go to the ARC (UP!). Eh..it's a day in the life of me at school. Always more downs that ups... sucks doesn't it? * * * * *Sorry...not much to post today... studying for ICS 21 midterm tomorrow...well..today * * * * *Monday, October 22, 2001Nothing really interesting to post this time around. Weekend was kind of boring. I didn't really do much other than go eat and kick it with the guys. Actually, a couple things did happen that are.....almost worth mentioning. Saturday nite after eating $6.99 steak breakfast... (ya i kno what you're probably thinking, how can a $7 steak dinner be good? WELL IT IS....don't knock it if you haven't tried it..) at Farmer Boys, John, pooks, and I *for all you grammar people* decicded to get boba and then head back to my house, so before leaving i got my car while pook drove his and took john with him. Hehe... then i realized that this was the opportunity me and pooks was looking for... we were gonna DRAG. WOOOHOOOO!!! I wanted to see how well my car would fare against a 2001 Acura 3.2 CL. The perfect spot for us was on Via Campo... the stretch of road between Findlay and Garfield between the 60 frwy and the Montebello Golf Course. It was all going well.. we got the red light and everything. I was actually surprised at how fast my car actually goes compared to the CL...until i accidently threw it in neutral... DAMMIT! I THOUGHT I HAD IT IN SPORT SHIFT!!!! So my car backed off and pook passed me. Oh well, at least he was able to tell i let up. So we decided on a rematch... but the next two times we tried..there were cops EVERYWHERE. So i guess we gotta wait until the next opportunity. I'm confident i have a good chance of at least keeping up with him....maybe even beating him...who knows...we'll see... hehehhehehehhe....muaHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAH!!!!!!! Oh yah..the second interesting thing... last nite i was talking to who knows how many people on Kelly's lovely Macintosh. I thougth i was talking to Kelly..then April..and then out of the blue this guy calls me out asking "do you race?" "what kinda car you got?" "is it hooked up?" "why so little....racer?" "I'll smoke you with a stock car..bitch" Ok.. maybe it didn't go exactly like that..but i know for sure *bitch* showed up in the conversation.... WTF??? Oh well.. April said it was their dorm-mate Sean... i didn't want to deal with a loser like that anyway. I'll let him think he can beat me witih his *stock* tricycle... * * * * *Sunday, October 21, 2001Dang... and i thought JAVA was a pain in the butt. For some reason the HTML coding won't work for the post i had just put. Screwed up my Blog Back function. Oh well... now you get to read this instead =P . Dang.. the Blog Back time settings aren't set to the right time zones and the code provided doesn't change anything. Oh well.. i'm tired..it's late, i got a ICS21 review session tomorrow from 3pm - 6pm. That's right.. review session on a Sunday. My midterm is on tuesday. Argh... I hate ICS. tooooooo much work. Also, i forgot to mention the waiters and waitresses at Macaroni Grill actually sing "Happy Birthday" to you... Opera Style! I heard this one waitress go at it and she had a set of lungs! WOW. Craziness... * * * * *Saturday, October 20, 2001Macaroni Grill was actually pretty good. I was expecting a small franchise restaurant with a Carrows atmosphere that served macaroni and cheese. Guess i was wrong. It had a really nice setting and the food was far from Kraft "Cheese and Macaroni." It was more like Olive Garden, but with more of an italian restaurant feel. The food is about the same price as Olive Garden, but it tasted better. I ordered a penne pasta plate with spicy sausage and marinara (sp?) sauce. It wasn't a house specialty or anything, but it was still good. John got this baked pasta with shirmp dish. Looked pretty good... maybe i'll get it next time. Pook got a chicken plate and Elg got a bowl of Fettuchini Alfredo. Everything looked pretty good, but i gotta say the best part of it was the bread they serve... it's soooooo much better than Olive Garden... I don't care what ya'll say... IT'S HELLA GOOOOOOOD!!! Ok.. i'm getting hungry again and i think i should change the subject before this turns into a restaurant review... * * * * *Friday, October 19, 2001Sleeeeeepy... * * * * *Thursday, October 18, 2001***UPDATE*** i have a comment thing like Kelly's page! Now visitors can comment on my dailly ramblings. I guess it'll double as a guestbook for the time being..... geez i'm so lazy. * * * * *So i didn't get the highest score in the class. Apparently someone got a score of 38 out of 40 versus my score of 36. Damn...two questions! Oh well... it's still an "A". Mean was 27 and the low score was a 5 i think =P At least i'm not that guy/girl. hmmm...oh yah.. the turtle ran away...hahhaha... somehow it got over the barrier we made and it went out the front gate. Lynette is sad.. i'm wutevers... i'd rather have a dog. * * * * *Wednesday, October 17, 2001ICS isn't so bad afterall... I got through the first lab with flying colors and today's wasn't so bad either. I say this because i got the darn thing to compile and run. As for the output... i'll leave that up to the TA and the Reader. Other than that i think i did ok, so maybe i passed, 75% sure. As for my Psych 7a midterm... I'M HARDCORE!!! I got one of the top scores in the class (if not THE highest....*slap* ok..stop dreaming). 36 out of 40 isn't bad at all.. that's like what... i dunno i can't do math now... anyways...it's good!!! From the looks of the chart, no one got a perfect score. Ah well... i'm happy. Now i can play CS ALL I WANT!!! HAHAHAHA!!! Oh yah... the turtle is fine... i haven't seen it since i found it under my car =P * * * * *Tuesday, October 16, 2001I ache all over. I didn't even DO anything today. It's probably cuz i'm overworked on my psych midterm i had this afternoon and now this stupid Lab for JAVA, which i'm gonna get tested on tomorrow. I have the first of two psych midterms tomorrow morning... and then i have a Lab exam for ICS21 Wednesday morning... then a ICS21 Midterm the following tuesday.. and then the PolSci midterm the following Monday.... and it just keeps going and going. So if you're coming here looking for new stuff to read and not see any... i'm sorry.. but i'll try to post as much interesting stuff as soon as i can..... at least i will if anything interesting happens... and to all the responses i got about the turtle... RANDOM HUH??? * * * * *Sunday, October 14, 2001Pretty interesting day. I woke up at 11:30am cuz i stayed up until about 4am. I took a nap earlier in the day so i couldn't sleep before that. Anyways, i went about my regular weekend routine, which is just going out to eat lunch with the family and then coming home to vege. After lunch, i came home and took a look at my car. It was dirty... i mean REALLY DIRTY, but i couldn't wash it until i had replaced some rubber seals in the tail-light assembly, so i had to do that first. Pretty boring thus far huh? Don't worry....here's where the story gets interesting. Just as i was about to move the car back into the garage, something under the car caught my eye. At first i though it was a big piece of trash...but then it moved! I was like.. ."What the heck??!?!" When i bent down to take a closer look, i found it was a turtle!!! Ok... what in the world? A turtle....under my car... in the garage... in Pico Rivera... HMMMMMMMMMMM????? To tell you the truth i'm still a little tripped out. Before long, the whole family was buzzing about the "mysterious" turtle. Lynette had affectionately named it "Pokey". It's a pretty good sized turtle too. It's about 5-6" long and at least 4" wide. I guess we're keeping it since my mom considers it good "feng shui" and we've already blocked off the whole backyard for it. Right now it's just chillin under some bushes. Pretty cool huh? Oh yah.. and my car is still dirty =P I gotta study psych anyway... * * * * *Thanks for the ride fo life. I'm tired. * * * * *Saturday, October 13, 2001Why the heck do i feel so blah today? I was fine this afternoon...till i got home. Right when i hit the couch, it seems like my whole body just went into shut down mode. I feel like crap. To make matters worse i have a review session for Psych tomorrow morning from 10am - 12pm. And i have all this reading to do... PLUS i still haven't gotten my program to frickin work. I wish this quarter's offering of ICS21 was still taught as a Intro to C++ class. It would make my life.. SOOOO much easier as i already have all the labs made up and i still remember half the stuff from summer. but nnnNNNNOOOOooo... they have to teach JAVA now. Oh well... new skillz. Just something else i can put on my resume. "Experience: C++, JAVA, and HTML" yea...baby.. it's allll gravvvy. Wonder if they'd hire me if i didn't get the minor...........hmm..............doubt it. * * * * *Wednesday, October 10, 2001"The joys of commuting" is what i said to Kelly today. Why? Cuz i almost got in ANOTHER accident! I swear it's not me and it's the other people around me! I'm a good driver...really i am!!! Let's see, the first time i got rear-ended by a drunk driver in a volvo... second time was this guy in a 1990 Mustang spinning out of control on the freeway and i couldn't stop in time... and just today some chick in a 90-91 Honda Accord slams on her brakes on the 605-405 interchange cuz she wasn't paying attention to the car in front of her. I probably woulda plowed right into her if i didn't swerve into the shoulder. Good thing i did too, cuz after that i heard tire screeches everywhere. A pretty big truck almost hit me from behind. That woulda been bad cuz my back is already screwed up from the previous two. I swear i'm gonna be in a wheelchair by the time i'm 40 =/ Damn these bad drivers... the DMV should really step up with their requirements... toooo many bad drivers. I on the other hand.. am the good driver. Really... not my fault remember?!?!?! * * * * *Ahh memories... however ones that i would rather forget, especially those of Pippens and Commons food. It's actually a block away from Old Town... i almost walked over cuz it got boring real quick. I dunno, maybe it's just cuz only half the stores were open when i was there. Nothing to buy really. They have a Starbucks and a Juice It Up... but the fact that it's outside away from most of the foot-traffic makes it kinda pointless to walk out to buy coffee and then walk back to the main area. Maybe it'll be worth my $5 to park in the garage when more stores open up.... especially when Islands opens it's doors for business =) mmmmm.....burgers.... Take my advice, go visit it later on... maybe in 3-4 weeks. Had to tell my mom how to send a package to New York. Oh well.. i'm still not talking that much. I dunno why... i just feel like being quiet today.... maybe it's a phase... * * * * *No school today! YAY! I love Fridays. Gives me time to be a bum...er, i mean catch up on my reading/homework! yah! that's it ........ =P Anyways, i dunno why but today i haven't been using my vocal cords that much. I woke up at 12 since my mom was being very noisy about putting back my phone in my room. I guess that was her way of trying to get me up. Oddly enough..since then i haven't said a word. I just haven't found the need to. I'm not mad at anyone. I just don't have anything to say. So far i've only answered my mom's questions with a nod or a shake of the head. So i'm weird.. wutever... but even so, i was able to finish about 20 pages of reading in the last hour...which is good by my standards =) So i guess being mute has it's productive qualities. He hooked it up with the JAVA programming and gave me a few pointers on how to survive in the class =) I spent my free time today with Kelly and ran some errands with her. She is now an ICS major! YAY! CONGRATULATIONS!!! I celebrated with her over Rite-aid icecream. She let me pay! That was a big surprise considering she made a HUGE fuss over payment when we ate at the Olive Garden. My "Legal Implications of the Drug Trade" class is gonna go steal garbage this week! We're gonna find stuff kinda like how the police do searches... fun. * * * * *Apparently both my sister's pages no longer exist. I dunno why...maybe i should find out. BTW...JAVA sucks.... * * * * *I start class at 10am tomorrow morning... (well..technically it's today...but anyways...) and i have a HUGE break until 6pm when i go in for a 3 hour class... great. I dunno how i'm gonna stay awake for that class. Well, kelly graciously offered to have me hang out for a while at her dorm. Maybe i'll sleep there. I love my friends. =) * * * * * |
